Fly With A Spitfire Event June 5th Sywell

Our first 2016 Sywell Fly With A Spitfire Event on June 5th at Sywell Aerodrome, was a great success once the cloud lifted and the sun broke gloriously through. Fly With A Spitfire will return to Sywell on August 27th 2016.

Dear Chris,
I am writing to thank you and Aero Legends for an absolutely magical experience as on the Dam Busters Sortie with Jez and Parky yesterday. An absolutely fantastic day out that I am still reeling from the effects of — absolutely wonderful present from my daughter, Katie Distin-Harvey for my impending 80th birthday. The Spitfire and I both first saw the light of day in 1936! Please accept my congratulations for a superbly organised day, including the weather. And as well as the excellent piloting teamwork, I, as a an amateur photographer would also thank you for the work of the ground crew in presenting the Devon with the cleanest windows in any aircraft I have ever come across for photographing from, and which has resulted in some extremely clear souvenir photos of the flying event.
Regards, Mark Harvey

05/06/2016 John & Victoria Aston Dam Busters Spitfire Tour Sunday 5th June 2016 Sywell Aerodrome
Hello Chris,
Just a few words to express our thanks to you and your team for all the hard work and effort you put in to make Sunday's programme the success it deserved, and was. The comments and smiling faces all around us showed how good people felt about the event, which turned into a real Spitfire special with four variants on display. I also have a suspicion that you juggled the order a little to accommodate our personal concerns regarding travel and dogs. If that is the case, we are most grateful, and can report that everything worked out beautifully.
As for the flight and experience, it was memorable. The Spitfire performed superbly and was flown and displayed immaculately for us fortunate participants; and if the scenery looked more like Rutland than Derbyshire, who cares. After we landed I have never seen such happy faces, with grown men behaving like schoolboys as the years dropped away. I can't think of any other activity or piece of machinery that causes such a reaction, or has the same effect on people, as the Spitfire. She is truly unique.
Victoria and I wish you and your enterprise continued success and good fortune, and hope to see you and the team again in the not too distant future. Meanwhile, we'll tell all our friends what they are missing.
Kindest Regards, John and Victoria Aston
