Cancellation / Date Change Terms
Our policy is to operate our tours with a complete commitment to the satisfaction of our customers. When a tour is booked, we are committed to you our customer, and by the same token, you are also committing to show up on the day of your tour, at least 15 minutes before the tour start time.
Our ‘Fly with a Fighter’ events are unique in providing our customers with the thrilling experience of flying with either the Hurricane or Spitfire or even both on occasions. The planning and management of each event is done to a very high degree and if someone drops out having booked a place, we have to go to a considerable amount of trouble and cost to fill that space again.
Consequently we take the matter of cancellation or date changes very seriously, and we expect anyone booking to treat the matter accordingly. All circumstances will be taken into consideration and a decision made at our discretion.
Because we have experienced indiscriminate late cancellations in the past, we have decided to update our terms accordingly – effective immediately.
Reasons for cancellation - by Action Stations!
For a tour to take place we are dependant on both the weather, and the mechanical serviceability of both the aircraft we are viewing, and using. The technology of the Spitfire goes back almost 80 years, and whilst the maintenance programme is of the highest order – we have to expect the unexpected!
Weather permitting
Regarding the weather, please contact us the day before your tour, to check that we are able to fly the following day. We will also try and contact you to let you know if we have to cancel or postpone the tour due to adverse weather conditions that we sometimes have to deal with – especially at this coastal location.
Mechanical failure
Should the aircraft we contract become unserviceable on the day, we will always try to have a suitable back up. It may be that due to the limited availability of Spitfires, we have to substitute with an alternative - for example Hurricane/ Mustang/ Kittyhawk.
We will always offer you the choice of either taking the tour on the day, or another suitable date, when we are confident that a Spitfire will be available.
If we have to postpone a tour for the above reasons, or due to other unforeseen circumstances, we will contact you at the earliest opportunity, and offer you suitable alternative dates. If you are unwilling to take an alternative and cancel your booking, we will refund your fee – less a 10% administration charge.
Cancellation Terms
- up to 7 days after booking - full refund
- up to 30 days before the booked date – 75% refund of the original price.
- within 30 days of the booked date - 25% refund of the original price.
- within 14 days of the booked date - no refund given
Date Changes Terms – Re-booking
Requesting to change a date up to 30 days before the original date fixed, there is an automatic administration fee of £55.00 (inc. VAT) payable at the time of rebooking.
This fee is applied to every date change request, up to 30 days before the event date booked.
Within 30 days before the booked event, the decision to accommodate the date change request will be made at our discretion, and will depend on another space being available on a future event. If we can make the change, we will do so, and an admin fee of £105.00 inc. VAT will be charged.
Would someone you know like to fly instead?
Rather than cancel or make a date change, and have to pay the penalty, it may be worth considering finding a friend or relative to replace you on a flight? After all, this is the flying experience of a life time, and many would jump at the chance to fly instead of you! Exchange bookings will be subject to our normal terms and conditions
